Getting started with FolioSmith

Import DOCX, Markdown or text, arrange chapters and preview a book locally. Pro adds print interior PDF, 50 interior designs and 20 editable illustrated covers.

Your first session

Import a short manuscript and check the chapter boundaries.
Edit the chapter order, front matter and text in the workspace.
Choose a design and inspect the live preview.
Export an EPUB and test it in a reader; keep a project backup.

A first ebook edition

Start with a short text manuscript, separate it into chapters and choose one of the Free designs. Export an EPUB, inspect the navigation and text on your reader, then return to the project for revisions.

Before you begin

FolioSmith is an English-language Windows app. EPUB appearance can vary with the reader and its settings. Check imported formatting and proof exported files. Store availability and the current release are described on the release page.
