Your manuscripts and local data
FolioSmith stores manuscripts, cover images, book metadata, recovery copies, local error logs, and appearance settings locally on your Windows PC. The app does not require a FolioSmith account, show advertising, or upload manuscripts. You can edit or delete book projects in the app.
Microsoft Store purchases
Microsoft Store processes Pro purchases and provides license information through your Microsoft account. FolioSmith uses that license information to enable Pro features. Microsoft handles payment information; FolioSmith does not receive payment card details. Microsoft’s privacy statement applies to its services.
Backups and exports
You choose where to save EPUBs, PDFs, and portable .foliosmith project backups. If that folder is synchronized by a separate service, that service’s settings and privacy terms apply. Windows may remove app storage when you uninstall or reset the app. Export a project backup before doing so.
Support and feedback
The Support / Feedback button opens WD DIGI support in your browser. Information you choose to send through that site is handled under its published privacy policy. FolioSmith does not automatically attach manuscripts, metadata, or diagnostic logs. Please send only the information needed to explain your issue.
This website
This FolioSmith website does not use advertising, analytics scripts, embedded social feeds, or a sign-up form. Fonts and images are served from this site. If you change the site’s light/dark appearance, the preference is stored in your browser’s local storage; you can clear it in browser settings.
The site is hosted through Cloudflare. Technical request information, such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL, may be processed to deliver and protect the website. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its processing practices. The app’s manuscripts are not part of those website requests.
Questions and changes
WD DIGI publishes FolioSmith. Send privacy questions or requests through WD DIGI support. Updates to this policy will appear on this page with a revised effective date.
